About the Show: Including You

Including You will feature stories from corporate and nonprofit executives who are proactively creating inclusive cultures. The goal is to inspire you to keep pushing for progress in your own organization. We first announced this new series when we were still figuring it out. We hoped to attract guests from a variety of industries and backgrounds. Interest has exceeded our expectations so far. And we’re just getting started!

Sneak Preview: “From Trust to Transformation”

Taheti Watson serves as the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at Canopy Children’s Solutions. Founded in 1912, Canopy Children’s Solutions provides behavioral health resources, education, and social services to help children and families thrive, despite extraordinary challenges. Canopy is a non-profit organization with 170 employees in Jackson, Mississippi.

In this episode, Taheti explains how an internal focus on building trust led to external transformation. The interview airs June 23 on Lead at Any Level’s YouTube channel and June 24 as a Living Corporate audio podcast.

Sneak Preview: “Inclusion by Design”

Dr. Rayshawn Eastman is the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and Title IX Coordinator at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Mount, as it’s called locally, serves about 2000 students each with a faculty, staff, and adjunct population of about 400 employees.

In this episode, Dr. Eastman shares how the university’s approach to D&I relies on design thinking and community engagement. The episode airs June 30 on Lead at Any Level’s YouTube channel and July 1 as a Living Corporate audio podcast.

Sneak Preview: “Talent Pipeline”

Charles Watkins is the Chief Diversity Officer and Equity Partner at Kubicki Draper, a full-service law firm with over 200 attorneys serving clients in Florida, and the southern parts of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. In addition to his work with Kubicki, Mr. Watkins serves as the Treasurer of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA). He is currently securing funding for an endowed scholarship to help African Americans pursue careers in insurance.

In this episode, Charles explains how his firm is strengthening its talent pipeline by investing in Black college students. The episode airs July 7 on Lead at Any Level’s YouTube channel and July 8 as a Living Corporate audio podcast.

Sneak Preview: “Community Outreach”

Ralph Smithers, Jr. (He/Him) is the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Relations Leader for Encova Insurance. Encova provides workers compensation and other commercial insurance, as well as auto, home, and life insurance for individuals. Encova employs 1200 associates and serves clients in 29 states. The company is based in Columbus, Ohio.

In this episode, Ralph highlights how Encova leads within the Columbus business community to have a broader impact on equity. The episode airs July 14 on Lead at Any Level’s YouTube channel and July 15 as a Living Corporate audio podcast.
